A Silly Kind of Love: January 2013

In all of our time in Utah, we've heard so much about the Sundance Film Festival, but we've never actually gone. So over the weekend we went up to Park City to check it out with Hannah's brother and his wife. We love Park City - it's definitely one of our favorite cities in Utah! Although we didn't meet any celebrities (I seriously thought that every person wearing sunglasses was a celebrity - but I refrained from running up to all of them to save Hannah the embarrassment) or get to watch any of the films, the atmosphere alone made it all worth it! We had a jolly good time walking up and down Main Street looking at all the shops and cool houses.

There are a lot of beautiful art galleries in park city, this is one of the ones we stopped in.

We live in Utah and it has been freezing here lately, even more than usual. So last Thursday I had a breakdown, I just couldn't take the cold anymore! And neither could Patrick, so I threw out the idea of us going home to his family's house in San Diego for the three day weekend! By the time we went to bed, it was decided and I was half way packed. We left Friday afternoon and got in late that night. It was a wonderful weekend full of fun and warmth. Patrick and I both grew up near the ocean and both feel more at home when we can feel the salty moist ocean air on our skin, and I swear I can breath so much better too. We were so sad when Monday came and we had to make the long drive back to the frozen tundra of Utah. Our little trip to California was amazing, the whole time we were there we kept looking at each other and saying "I am so glad we did this". I bet I said it about a thousand times a day! It helped give us the break we needed and a new found perspective that winter will end someday..... I think.

We went to visit Patrick's littlest sister's at her all day hip hop class, all the women in his family are dancers.

This is one of our favorite places to go eat when we are in San Diego, some of the best Asian/Hawaiian food we have ever tasted!

After lunch we went for a walk on the beach

Jenna is a babe. We had so much fun with her Saturday, as you can tell Patrick missed his lil' sis very much.

We walked to the little shops that are by the water in Carlsbad, and because it was so warm, we decided to get ice cream!! While back in Utah it was the temperature of ice cream.
