silly little love story

So since moving to Louisiana we have been asked lots of questions about where we are from and why we are here, but my favorite question that has been asked quite a lot is how we met.
When we first got married I didn't think our story was very interesting, but now I love any chance to tell it! and every time we tell it I get a new insight to how we were most definitely meant to be to together! I love our silly little love story and I love this silly Love of mine, he is the most amazing man in the world and I ask myself everyday how I got so darn lucky to be married to him!

Moving to Louisiana

Parlez-vous français? Ya, me neither. But that didn't stop us from moving down to Cajun-country where the French influence is seen everywhere. Some people speak French, some people speak English, some people speak French and English, and some people speak a dialect of English that sounds like a different language to me... It's safe to say that Louisiana has been an adventure so far! After living in Kansas City for two months (pretty long time, right?), we were just starting to feel comfortable with the area when my company came to me with a unique opportunity - moving down to Louisiana for a new position and working with a brand new client company. How could we resist alligators, Spanish moss, and gumbo? Luckily my company flew us down here a few weeks before our actual move date to look for a place to live. Because my sister-in-law connected us with a realtor, not only did we find a place to live, but we also found some great new friends. This realtor, his wife, and their family are some of the most genuine and loving people we have ever met. In fact, most of the people down here are like that, which has made the transition that much easier.

 Spanish moss
The architecture down here is amazing!
 Our new place! (Just kidding...)

 There is sugar cane EVERYWHERE
Our realtor took us to this restaurant that has been around for over 140 years.

Rip Van Winkle Gardens. This place was b-e-a-u-tiful.

On our way from KC to Lafayette we got to stop in Dallas to visit some of my best friends, the Berretts. We had a BLAST and hope to get up there to visit them again soon!

Britt gave us a tour of the hospital that he runs in downtown Dallas

At an old-fashioned soda shop in Dallas

I don't know about this one.... but I love the look the lady is giving me....

They took us out on the jet skis and it was the most fun we've ever had in our lives...

We moved into our new apartment a couple of weeks ago, and we're loving it out here so far! There is so much culture (and culture shock..) and the people here are so nice.

One of our favorite walking spots near our apartment

Still can't believe we live so close to the Bayou!

Hannah's parents and sister came to visit. We LOVED having them!

We're excited for the adventures to come down here in good ole' Louisiana - most of all the fact that our baby girl will be born here!

Griffins come to Kansas!

We found out that we are moving sooner than we thought so the Griffins decided to come down and visit us before we left, but the main reason they came was so we could all go to Lego Land!  It was a super fun weekend!

Even Birdie had fun at Lego Land!

 Lego Building Class!

Tried after a long day of playing

4th of July - Indiana Style

We went to Terre Haute for Independence Day because we missed the Griffins so much! We had so much fun with them, I love being with my sister and her family!

Jack snuck like 3 donuts with out his parents seeing, needless to say he had lots of energy the rest of the day!

The boys never stopped climbing on Uncle Patrick and he loved every minute of it.

We LOVE the Griffins!!
