We got into St. Louis late Friday night, after what felt like the longest car ride ever! ( it was only 4 hours but when your pregnant and sick to your stomach, being stuck in a car for a long time amplifies the pain)
Our hotel was across the street from the arch and it was a quite a beautiful sight to behold! Saturday we walked over to the arch and were surprised by how big it actually was in person. Patrick really wanted to go up in the arch but was considerate of my new found fear of heights and claustrophobia since I've been pregnant. -H
Once we were done admiring every angle of the arch (took about 5 minutes with our attention spans), we headed on over to the City Museum. We had decided beforehand to go there since Hannah had been there as a kid and loved it. This place was everything my 5-year old self dreamed about - there is so much to do there! The highlight had to be that you're allowed to climb on pretty much everything... which I took full advantage of. It made for a great afternoon and I can't wait to take our kids back there some day. After exploring the museum for a solid couple of hours we decided to hit the road and start our 4-hour trek home.
The ridiculously crazy/awesome thunderstorm on the way home really rounded out the trip for us. After all, what's a road trip in the Midwest without a thunderstorm? It actually got so bad at one point that we had to pull off the road for a while to wait it out. This California boy is definitely not used to storms like that. All in all, the trip was a perfect way to celebrate two years with the girl of my dreams. I'm so grateful to be married to Hannah and can't wait to spend the rest of eternity with her! -P
That blur in there is Patrick!
We ate lunch in the Museum. This place was delicious!
This plane was suspended at least 6 stories up, this is where I found my fear of heights!
Thanks St. Louis!
